The PEACE Initiative
A Catholic Coffee Movement Supporting the Mission of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and Catholic Coffee-Farming Families in Nicaragua
Inspiration for the Name
The PEACE Initiative is named after The Mountain of Peace - property of the Diocese of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, consecrated to Our Lady by 65 bishops in 2014, and stewarded by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. It is both a pilgrimage site and the home of one of the most recognized Catholic coffee farms in the world. This farm is part of Guadalupe Farms Cooperative. Parishes can support The PEACE Initiative by participating in the PEACE Mission Weekend (October 3rd and 4th) and or the PEACE Fellowship. A generous percentage of profit is donated to support the work of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in Nicaragua.

PEACE Mission Weekend
A nationwide effort that invites parishes to partner with us in mission to drive support for Catholic families and Franciscan friars in Nicaragua. Volunteers can sell our bagged specialty grade coffee for 5-10 minutes after weekend Masses on October 3rd and 4th, 2026. We have the coffee shipped to the parish office. There is no cost to the parish and no obligation to pay for any unsold bags at the end of the weekend. Terms + conditions and sign-up form available by clicking here. Interested and have questions? Click the button below to send us a message. The PEACE Mission Weekend seeks to further support Catholic farming families by driving demand in the marketplace for 500,000 pounds of coffee sourced from Guadalupe Farms Cooperative.
