What Problem Does Kolbe Coffee Help Solve?

Most Catholic farmers are trapped in pricing systems that exploit their labor and keep them financially vulnerable. If we do nothing, the injustice continues—not because it is inevitable, but because we chose to leave it unchallenged. Catholic coffee-farming families often have no direct connection to the Catholic coffee drinkers who want to support them.

Kolbe Coffee and its strategic collaborators, Guadalupe Farms Cooperative and Guadalupe Roastery, help break that cycle—ensuring farmers are paid fairly and working relentlessly to build stable, growing demand for their coffee.

The Solution: A Catholic Coffee Movement

With support from parishes, Kolbe Coffee connects farmers directly with consumers through bagged coffee sales after weekend Masses. I would like to partner in mission with your parish community this upcoming October 3 and 4 for the 2026 P.E.A.C.E. Initiative. Details about Kolbe Coffee, our strategic collaborators and the 2026 P.E.A.C.E. Initiative are available below.

Guadalupe Farms Cooperative

Kolbe Coffee's single origin coffee is sourced from Guadalupe Farms Cooperative- a coffee farming cooperative based in Nicaragua consisting of more than 50 Catholic families that cultivate specialty grade coffee (top 3% of quality in the world).

The cooperative, founded within a Catholic community, works directly with local producers and builds long-term relationships where family, dignified work, and excellence in every lot are valued.

Guadalupe Roastery: A Strategic Ally

Guadalupe Roastery, Kolbe Coffee's strategic collaborator and a company striving to faithfully integrate the faith into business practices, continues to roast and package our coffee sourced from Guadalupe Farms Cooperative. They have years of experience in roasting, long standing relationships with farming families, and established sourcing and packaging capabilities. The strategic alliance allows Kolbe Coffee to completely focus its efforts on executing initiatives that build demand for the coffee in the USA market.

P.E.A.C.E. Initiative: October 3 + 4

Kolbe Coffee's first annual nationwide endeavor, The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative (Parishes Empowering Agricultural and Catholic Enterprises), seeks to further support Catholic farming families by driving demand in the marketplace for 500,000 pounds of coffee sourced from Guadalupe Farms Cooperative.

The Story Behind the Name "P.E.A.C.E. Initiative"

The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is named after The Mountain of Peace - property of the Diocese of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, consecrated to Our Lady by 65 bishops in 2014, and stewarded by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. It is both a pilgrimage site and the home of one of the most recognized Catholic coffee farms in the world. This farm is part of Guadalupe Farms Cooperative.

Let's Work Together on October 3 and 4, 2026!

There is NO COST TO THE PARISH. A conservative number of 12oz bags of coffee will be shipped to the parish. Interested parishioners purchase coffee after Masses. The parish is NOT OBLIGATED to pay for any unsold bags of coffee. The parish sends revenue from the sale to Kolbe Coffee after the weekend.
